On Monday 20th June 2011, Archbishop George Stack was installed as the seventh Archbishop of Cardiff. In a Mass held at St David’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Archbishop George formally took control of the diocese.
The event was attended by various members of the Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales including Archbishop Peter Smith of Southwark, his predecessor. Also present were various members of the Archdiocese of Westminster where Archbishop George had previously served as Assistant Bishop and members of the clergy and laity of the Archdiocese of Cardiff.
