The Catholic Education Service has recently announced the new appointment of one of the Revd Dr Philip Manghan as CES Education Adviser (Wales). Dr Manghan is one of the Permanent Deacons within the Archdiocese of Cardiff.
Paul Barber, Director of CES said: “We are delighted to welcome Philip to our team. Philip brings a wealth of experience working in the Catholic education sector in Wales. He will play a pivotal role in developing our strong partnership with the Welsh government and ensuring the success and sustainability of Catholic education in Wales for the future.”
Dr Manghan has worked in Catholic education for over thirty years, including fifteen years in school leadership, most recently as Headteacher of Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School in Bridgend, Wales. He was the principal examiner for the WJEC GCSE RS Catholic school programmes, the academic director of the CCRS for the Archdiocese of Cardiff and a Welsh Government Estyn peer inspector.
He was ordained a permanent deacon in 2006.
Dr Manghan will take up the post, which will be based in Cardiff, in January 2015.
