Archbishop George Launches World Youth Day Registration

On the Solemnity of Christ the King, Archbishop George Stack concluded the Encounter Youth Retreat by officially opening the diocesan registration for World Youth Day.

Over the next few years, the youth of the Archdiocese will prepare, spiritually as well as practically and financially, for the pilgrimage to Kraków, Poland.

The World Youth Day was established in December 1985 by Pope St. John Paul II, as an annual gathering of youth and young adults for prayer, worship and celebration of the Catholic faith. It gives you, our young people, the chance to learn better and deepen your Catholic Faith, and to meet young people from all over the world. It is at these events where we learn the richness of our faith.

Full information for the diocesan pilgrimage is available on the Cardiff to Kraków website – this includes a copy of the registration form. The stipulation from the organisers is that young people will need to be sixteen by our departure date (20th July 2016).
